Lawrence H. Schoenbach
Mr. Schoenbach, of counsel to our firm, is one of the most experienced criminal trial attorneys in New York. With nearly 30 years of active trial practice in the areas of state and federal criminal defense, international extradition and corporate compliance, Lawrence brings unparalleled expertise to our clients. He is also the New York partner for the Institute for Tax and Commercial Law, a Swiss-based consulting firm that serves clients throughout the world.
Lawrence began his career in 1980 as a public defender in New York City and moved on to become one the most eminent criminal defense attorney in New York who has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s prestigious AV rating, a peer ranking at the highest level of professional excellence. Lawrence tried over a hundred criminal cases to verdict.
Lawrence is admitted to the bar in the State of New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as federal courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Courts of Appeal for the First, Second and Third Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Schoenbach received his law degree from Hofstra University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany and a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College. Lawrence has taught trial techniques for more than 20 years at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy at the Hofstra University School of Law and the Yeshiva University, Cardozo School of Law. He is a frequent guest commentator on TruTV (formerly CourtTV).
Sam A. Schmidt
Sam A. Schmidt is of counsel to our firm. He earned his law degree from St. John’s Law School in 1975. Sam started his career as a Legal Aid attorney and moved on to become an eminent New York City criminal defense attorney who has handled thousands of state and federal criminal matters, including numerous highly publicized cases. Sam was lead counsel in the “Embassy Bombing” terrorist case in 2001. He was also lead counsel in major drug trafficking conspiracy cases. Today, Sam practices in both the Federal courts throughout the United States and New York State courts. His practice includes representation of clients under investigation or charged with white collar crimes, narcotics offenses, homicides and most other offenses. He has also lectured and published on various issues relating to terrorist investigations and prosecutions. Sam is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the New York Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Dina Ehrenburg
Dina Ehrenburg, Esq. is an associate at our firm. Ms. Ehrenburg received her B.A. from Yale University and has earned her law degree at Fordham Law School, where she served as the Executive Notes and Articles Editor of the Fordham International Law Journal. Before joining our firm, Ms. Ehrenburg was associated with several prominent New York City litigation firms where she gained valuable experience in litigating state and federal criminal and civil cases, as well as in administrative hearings and appeals. Ms. Ehrenburg has worked with domestic and international clients on matters including business immigration, importation, and FDA issues. Ms. Ehrenburg is admitted in New York and New Jersey state courts, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court for the District of New Jersey.
Alice Lee
Alice H. Lee is of counsel to the Law firm of Joseph Potashnik & Associates where she focuses her practice on trust and estate planning and administration. Her clients include domestic and foreign business owners and professionals.
Alice advises clients who have complex, multi-national issues involving ownership of assets in multiple jurisdictions, domestic and foreign estate and inheritance taxes, choice of laws and succession concerns. Alice also sets up domestic and international trusts for clients based on their individual needs. Aside from her trust and estate practice, Alice has experience in areas of complex commercial litigation, trust and estate litigation, and business disputes.
Alice is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and served as the law clerk to the Honorable Robert H. Gardner, J.S.C., New Jersey Superior Court, Criminal Division.
Alice is very active in the Asian American community, focusing her efforts primarily on the promotion of networking and business development of young Asian professionals. Alice is an Executive Board member of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey (APALA/NJ) and she volunteers as Legal Counsel to Project by Project, a national non-profit organization that serves the national Asian American community.
Prior to becoming an attorney, she was a professional model with FORD Models in New York City where she worked on editorial campaigns for major fashion companies and magazines.
Winnie Chan
Winnie Chan is the office manager at our law firm. She graduated from New York University with a Bachelors degree in Economics. Her main responsibilities include building client relations and supervision of office operations. Winnie plans to go to law school in the future and specializing in criminal defense. She also speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.
Salina Yeung
Salina Yeung is a paralegal at our law firm. She graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors degree in Comparative Literature. Her main responsibilities include client intake, updating our legal database, and administrative work. Salina plans to go to law school in the near future. She also speaks Cantonese and Fujianese.
